iPad Junior Jam in Y5

What a fun morning of music production on the iPads.  We learnt about bars and rhythm and repeating sounds as part of our Junior Jam session.

Olympic posters - our thoughts

We enjoyed pretending we were the posters and analysing what we thought about the artists who created them.  We used the iPod app Morfo and some of us used iMovie to piece snippets together.

Making a tree lie!

These photos link to the videos further down of the talking trees.  Here's all the fun we had preparing our tree characters and stories.

Megan's dream

What do you think went on in Megan's dream? Take a look... (Click the link left)

Then listen to Megan's music creation - I think it would go perfectly as background music to the dream!  What do you think? (You have to wait about 30 seconds for it to start to play)

Flame followers

We were very pleased so many children got to see the flame last weekend.  Here's a few family shots from Y5 children who were able to go.

Outdoors + literacy + clay + QR Codes + iPods = FUN

This unusual (& perhaps a little scary!) combination of activities left us feeling like we'd had a great day of fun and learning.

Half of Y5 & half of Y6 joined together for the day.

We began by creating a tree character and then wrote a lie about something that had happened to it. This lie grew and grew until we had fabulous fictional stories. Once the drafts had begun, we went on QR Code Treasure Hunts which revealed new sentence openers which we were challenged to incorporate into our stories. We then recorded our stories using the Morfo app which enabled our trees to come to life.

We did well! Check out what we've achieved!

The Oscar winners!

What a fabulous afternoon we had at The Oscars ceremony in Bradford today.  Well done to the Year 5 team that got through to the finals and won their category.  You worked hard independently to achieve these results.  Fantastic!
